Mumbai: Amid the ongoing controversy over the casting of Pakistani artists in Indian films, ‘Jaat’ actors Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda opened up on the issue and said that actors work for everyone around the globe.

Sunny, who was at the HT City Delhi office along with ‘Jaat’ co-stars Hooda and Viineet Kumar Siingh on Monday, was asked about Fawad Khan’s return to Bollywood.

“I wouldn’t like to go into the political side because that’s where things start getting messy. We are actors, we work for everyone all over the world even if somebody is watching it or not, we are for everyone,” said Fawad.

He added, “Toh aisi koi baat nahi hai and I think the more the way the world is becoming, should stay global and let there be no countries. That’s the way it should be.”

Hooda wittily quipped, “There are a lot of Jaats in Pakistan, by the way.”

Directed by Telugu filmmaker Gopichand Malineni, ‘Jaat’ also stars Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher and Ramya Krishnan in key roles.

In the recently-released trailer of the film, Sunny’s iconic ‘Dhai Kilo Ke Haath’ dialogue left fans thrilled.

“Yeh dhai kilo ke haath ki taakat poora North dekh chuka hai. Ab, South dekhega,” Sunny is heard saying in the trailer.

The film will hit theatres on April 10.

Following the Uri attack in 2016, Indian film associations had imposed a ban on Pakistani artists working in Bollywood.

After nearly 9 years, Pakistani heartthrob Fawad announced his Bollywood comeback with ‘Abir Gulaal’, opposite Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor, and this sparked mixed reactions.

While some are excited about Fawad’s return to Bollywood, others including the political parties, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and Shiv Sena demanded a ban on the film.
