Here’s Why Mahesh Babu Did Not Support Shilpa Shirodkar Publicly During Her ‘Bigg Boss 18’ Journey

Mumbai: Actress Shilpa Shirodkar’s eviction, just days before the grand finale, left fans surprised because she was considered as one of the strongest contenders for ‘Bigg Boss18’ trophy.

What was more surprising is that despite hailing from a celebrity background, Shilpa didn’t receive any support publicly from her brother-in-law, South superstar Mahesh Babu.

Though Shilpa’s sister Namrata Shirodkar and niece Sitara appealed fans to vote for her, brother-in-law Mahesh Babu refrained from extending any support to her on social media platform.

Defending her brother-in-law, Shilpa in an interview with Siddharth Kannan said, “Relationships shouldn’t be gauged by the posts shared on social media. I don’t understand this concept. They don’t need to post on social media to show me how proud they are of me as a family. We are not the kind of family that openly expresses our feelings for each other. I went into the house for who I am, not as Namrata’s sister or Mahesh’s sister-in-law. Of course, he is a superstar and very popular, but that doesn’t mean he has to be part of my career too.”

“Mahesh and Namrata are very reserved people, and the world is quick to label them arrogant. Mahesh is reserved, but he is a very nice person. He is very, very cool. Of course, he is reserved, but he is always there. If you need anything, he will be there for you,” she added.

Shilpa’s received the least number of votes and was evicted from the show just days before the finale.

Her eviction left her close friends, Karan Veer Mehra and Vivian Dsena in tears.

Shilpa Shirodkar, who worked in Bollywood films from 1989 to 2000, made her acting debut with Ramesh Sippy’s film Bhrashtachar. The film also starred Mithun Chakraborty and Rekha.

Then, she went on to star in several hit films including Trinetra, Hum, Khuda Gawah, Aankhen, Pehchaan, Gopi Kishan, and Bewafa Sanam.

In 2000, she took a break from the industry to focus on her family in London.

After a 13-year hiatus, she made her comeback in 2013 with the television show Ek Mutthi Aasmaan.
