Here’s Why Man Lodged Police Case Against Wife, In-Laws In Uttar Pradesh

Rampur: A man lodged an FIR here against his wife and in-laws and accused them of celebrating Pakistan’s T20 World Cup victory over India on October 24, cops said.

“An FIR has been registered after a case of making fun of the Indian cricket team came to our notice on the basis of a complaint made by a man,” Superintendent of Police Ankit Mittal was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

A resident of Azim Nagar here, complainant Ishan Miya has alleged that his wife Rabia Shamsi along with her family burst crackers and put up WhatsApp status to celebrate Pakistan’s victory.

The FIR has been lodged at the Ganj Police Station of Rampur district under Section 153-A of the Indian Penal Code and Section 67 of the Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008.

“The husband and wife started living separately soon after the marriage. The wife lives with her family and has filed a dowry case against the husband,” the FIR was quoted as saying by the agency.
