Mumbai: Barely a couple of days after Congress leader Nana Patole pointed fingers at Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan for not speaking out against fuel price hike, cops increased the security outside Bachchan’s Juhu bungalow Jalsa.
“It is a temporary measure, as a precaution,” an official from the local police station said. However, he refused to specify what prompted them to deploy more personnel outside Jalsa in Juhu.
Earlier in the week, Maharashtra Congress supremo Patole had taken a dig at Bollywood celebrities Bachchan and Akshay Kumar. According to Patole, they used to tweet about the rise in petrol and diesel prices during the UPA regime, but now they are quiet, reported PTI.
Patole had warned on Thursday that if he didn’t take a stand on the fuel price hike issue, then the screenings of his films and shooting would not be allowed in the city.
The Congress shares power in Maharashtra with the NCP and Shiv Sena.
