High Court Relief For Mukesh Ambani Ahead Of Son’s Wedding; Check Details

New Delhi: In a relief to Mukesh Ambani ahead of his son’s wedding, Delhi High Court refused to entertain a plea seeking action against Reliance’s mega zoo and a trust owned by the conglomerate.

Mukesh and Nita Ambani’s younger son Anant will get married to Viren Merchant’s daughter Radhika in a mega event next month. According to a report by News18, the wedding festivities will be held at Reliance Greens in Gujarat’s Jamnagar between March 1 and 3.

A petition filed by Rahul Narula stated that wedding-related events scheduled at this venue will harm animals in the area.

Narula, an advocate and self-proclaimed animal lover, had approached the high court seeking directions to the Animal Welfare Board of India to file a complaint as he felt the functions involving high-profile VIPs, will harm animals around the location.

Narula sought directions against Radhe Krishna Temple Elephant Welfare Trust and Greens Zoological, Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre.

The bench of Justices Suresh Kumar Kait and Girish Kathpalia noted that the petition was filed based on an apprehension, and hence it can’t be entertained.

The high court added that a high-powered committee (HPC), which had been constituted on the orders of Tripura High Court to examine complaints about animal organisations, can be present at the location to oversee the wedding-related events and take all precautions to “ensure that no inhumane behaviour is caused to the animals”.
