Highest Single-Day Spike Of 561 COVID-19 Cases In Odisha, Affected Tally Crosses 8000-Mark

Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported a record 561 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. These fresh cases from 20 district took the affected tally to 8106 on Friday.

According to I & PR department, Ganjam reported the highest 283 cases followed by Cuttack (81), Rayagada (76), Khurda (26), Bargarh (21), Balangir (19), Mayurbhanj (10), Sambalpur (8), six each in Jagatsinghpur and Keonjhar, Kalahandi (5), Koraput (4), three each in Dhenkanal, Sundargarh and Jajpur, two each in Kemdrapada and Jharsuguda and one each in Bhadrak and Puri.

Among the infect is an NDRF personnel, the post added.

The virus has so far claimed 27 lives in the state while 5502 patients have recovered from the infection.

Among the 86 new cases in Cuttack, 66 have been detected in two hospitals in the city.
