Hoax Bomb Threats: Govt Wants To Put Perpetrators On No-Fly List
The government is considering legislative measures to combat the recent surge in bomb threats targeting Indian airlines, said Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, adding that the administration wants to put the perpetrators on the no-fly list.
Notably, about 100 flights were subjected to bomb threats in the past week alone.
Addressing the media in the national capital, Naidu outlined two key areas for potential legislative action. “We have identified two approaches we can explore. First, we are looking at amending the Aircraft Security Rules. One of the proposals is to include individuals responsible for such threats on the no-fly list. Second, we are examining amendments to the Suppression of Unlawful Acts Against Safety of Civil Aviation Act, 1982,” Naidu said.
