Bhubaneswar: At least 62 new sub-inspectors have been posted in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack to boost police patrolling in the twin city of Odisha ahead of FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup, 2023.
According to sources, 126 cadet sub-inspectors (CSIs) completed one-year institutional training at Police Training College (PTC), Angul, and six months of practical training in different police districts and took part in the passing out parade in the presence of DGP Sunil Kumar Bansal.
“Of 126 SIs, 62 have been posted in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. With the deployment of the young officers, enforcement activities have been enhanced in the capital city,” DCP Prateek Singh told the media.
Notably, the batch, comprising 86 male and 48 lady officers, was provided training to carry out anti-Maoist operations and was familiarised with the functioning of jails, courts, and forensic laboratories as well as various branches and wings of Odisha Police.
Meanwhile, the twin city Commissionerate Police said they have enhanced enforcement against alcohol consumption in public places, selling of drugs and other anti-social activities.
