Lucknow: Hockey Odisha ensured the quarter-final berth after registering a 4-2 win over Uttar Pradesh Hockey in a must-win match for both the teams.
Taking a 2-0 lead in the first 25 minutes, Hockey Odisha maintained the supremacy till 41st minute when Ajay Yadav pulled one back for the home team.
However, Prasad Kujur (46’) and Prasan Tirkey (55’) scored a goal apiece to firm its position.
Though, Gopi Sonkar (51′) scored the second goal for Uttar Pradesh Hockey, it was not enough to qualify for the quarters.
