Bhopal: The two teams from Odisha – Hockey Odisha and Gangpur – have made it to the quarter-finals of the ongoing Junior Women National Championships in Bhopal.
In the Pool B match, Hockey Odisha routed Tamil Nadu 10-1 to qualify for the top-eight place, on Tuesday. The team is now the Pool B toppers with 12 points from 4 matches.
While Elima Minz scored four goals for Odisha in the 8th, 43rd, 59th and 66th minute, Abinasi Mukti scored a hat-trick (14’, 45’. 67’). Similarly Ashim Kanchan Barla netted a brace (4’,55’) while Neha Lakra and M Janani scored one goal each in the 60th
and 37th minute respectively.In the Pool A match, Mumbai Hockey Association registered its first win by beating Gangpur 4-3.
Rruchi Bhandari (3′), Lynette Lobo (9′), Manshi Belgaonkar (18′) and skipper Resham Mahadik (60′) scored for Mumbai while Topno Aten (20′, 61′) and skipper Jiwan Kishori Toppo (17′) for Hockey Gangpur-Odisha.
