Bhubaneswar: Former Indian hockey player Lazarus Barla meet judo players from Odisha, who will soon be participating in state and national level competitions, on Tuesday.
During an ongoing camp at the State Judo Hall here, Lazarus spoke about social responsibilities and importance of sports in life.
He motivated the players with pep talk on mental and physical preparations before a competition.
The junior level judo competition (10 to 15 age) for both boys and girls will be held at the State Judo Hall of Bhanjakala Mandap here from August 12. As many as 260 players from 18 districts will participate in the event.
“A total of 30 players will be selected from the 30 events. They will participate in the national level competition at Una in Himachal Pradesh,” informed Odisha State Judo Association secretary Purna Chandra Mishra and chief executive officer Geetanjali Panda.
