Hollywood A-lister Tom Hanks on Thursday revealed that he and his wife, Rita Wilson, have tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Australia.
Hanks and Wilson, both 63, went in for testing after experiencing symptoms of cold in Queensland, the actor mentioned on social media. They will be kept in isolation, he added.
Hanks wrote on Instagram, “We felt a bit tired, like we had cold, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fever too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for Coronavirus, and were found to be positive”.
Hanks is working on a film about the life of Elvis Presley and had been shooting in Gold Coast.
Earlier on Wednesday, the World Health Organization (WHO) had officially declared the outbreak to be a pandemic.
