Hyderabad: Spine-chilling horror unfolded on the streets of Hyderabad when two transgenders were brutally murdered in the old city on Tuesday night.
Unidentified persons attacked the transgenders with knives and stones in Tappachabutra, a sublocality in west Hyderabad’s Syed Ali Guda.
The duo was identified as Yusuf alias Dali and Riyaz alias Sofia.
“A double murder has taken place within the Tappachabutra Police station limits. Police reached the spot after getting information. The deceased transgenders were identified as Yusuf alias Dali and Riyaz alias Sofia,” the Tappachabutra DCP said.
The DCP further informed that both transgenders were residents of Tappachabutra, and were killed using boulders and knives.
“A knife was found at the crime spot,” the police officer said.
According to preliminary findings, cops believe illegal intimacy is the reason behind the murders.
“We are interrogating a few suspects. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway,” the DCP said.
