Bhubaneswar: While hot and humid weather along with thunderstorm activity may persist till June 19, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted heavy rainfall at a few places in Odisha on June 20-21.

It further said that conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of the state during the next 4 days. Though monsoon had set over Odisha on June 8, its progress has been slow since then, leading to heatwave condition in interior districts and sultry weather in coastal belt. It is currently active in Malkangiri and Koraput districts.
