Mumbai: Passengers on a Vistara flight had a harrowing experience recently when the aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing due to a technical glitch.

On board the flight from Mumbai to Hyderabad was Rashmika Mandanna, accompanied by another actress Shraddha Das.

Rashmika Mandanna, who recently starred in the hit movie ‘Animal’ and played the wife of Ranbir Kapoor, took to Instagram to share her shocking experience.

She posted a selfie with Shraddha, captioning it, “Just FYI this is how we escaped death today…”

Passengers experienced extreme turbulence due to technical issues on the aircraft, forcing the pilots to return to Mumbai half an hour after departure.

The airline said that the decision to return was a precautionary step to ensure safety of passengers.

“Shortly after take-off, a technical snag was detected on Vistara flight UK531 operating from Mumbai to Hyderabad on 17 February. As a precautionary step, in accordance with the standard operating procedures, the pilots decided to turn-back and landed the flight safely at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International airport, Mumbai,” NDTV quoted a Vistara spokesperson as saying.

“An alternate aircraft was arranged, which departed shortly thereafter to complete the journey. All efforts were made to minimise inconvenience to the customers including offering them refreshments,” the airline added.

Rashmika, who last year made headlines nationally after a deepfake video featuring her went viral on social media, is currently shooting for the much-anticipated ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’.

Rashmika played the role of Srivalli alongside the popular Allu Arjun in the first instalment, ‘Pushpa: The Rise’, which was a blockbuster hit in 2021.
