New Delhi: The Union government on Tuesday fixed rates for the three COVID-19 vaccines which private hospitals can charge.
The Union Health Ministry capped charges for administration of Covishield at Rs 780 per dose, Covaxin at Rs 1,410 per dose and Sputnik V at Rs 1,145 for every dose in private hospitals.
The rates are based on prices declared by the respective vaccine manufacturers.
Covaxin in the only indigenously developed vaccine, being manufactured by Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech, while Serum Institute of India is manufacturing the Oxford-Astrazeneca developed vaccine in India. Sputnik V, on the other hand, is a Russian vaccine being used in India.
