New Delhi: The Union Human Resource Development Ministry has decided to reduce the NCERT syllabus by half. The decision was announced by HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar.
“The government has decided to reduce the NCERT syllabus by half as it is “cramped.”
The new syllabus will give importance to physical education, life skills and also value-based education.
The draft of the new National Education Policy is likely to be tabled before the Union Cabinet by the end of this month.
According to reports, the ministry has received 37,000 suggestions on several topics including classes, lessons and subjects from teachers.
