Sambalpur: In a major development in Sambalpuri album artist Simran Singh’s death case, police on Saturday booked her husband, Dhrubaraj Suna aka Yug, under POCSO Act.
Balangir police had detained Yug at Belpada police station for interrogation the previous day on the basis of a complaint lodged by Simran’s family, alleging that she was murdered by him and the body later dumped under a bridge near Goira Matha.
During interrogation, Yuga told police that they had tied the knot against their parents’ consent last year. He, however, denied the allegation of his involvement in her death.
Hours before police detained Yug on Friday, Simran’s last voice message doing the rounds on social media platforms hinted at a possible suicide angle.
According to sources, Simran was heard crying in the voice message to a male friend, who is yet to be identified, and claiming that she was mentally depressed and going away from everyone.
“I am broken from inside. I would have left everything to come with you had you told me once to take me to your home. Wish you had made efforts to save the relationship. Be happy. I am going away…away from my family and everyone,” she can be heard saying in the voice message.
The actor had sent the one minute and 18 seconds long audio message to her friend through Whatsapp, before being found dead under Mahanadi Bridge on Thursday morning.
The 20-year-old had gained popularity for Sambalpuri music video ‘Selfie Bebo’.
