Berhampur: In a joint raid, Excise officials and police personnel seized a huge quantity of illicit liquor and arrested 5 persons from three villages in Ganjam district in the wee hours of Friday.
The raid was conducted in Surala, Dhanaghara and Malakuta villages under Golanthata and Chikiti police limits with deployment of two platoons of APR force.
During the raid, 80 litre of ID liquor, 21.6 litre of duplicate IMFL, 22.05 litre of beer and 40 litre of OS liquor were seized.
The arrested persons are Debendra Behera and Damburu Behera of Surala, Sushant Kumar Sahu of Dhanaghara and Rama Chandra Mallick and Arakhita Mallick of Malakuta, sources said.
