Hyundai on Thursday launched the new updated 2019 version of its premium sedan – Elantra. It has Hyundai’s Blue Link connected car technology making it India’s first fully-connected sedan.
The 2019 Elantra has a BS6 complaint petrol engine that is offered in both manual and automatic options. The engine is 2.0-litre 150 bhp unit that produces a peak torque of 192 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The car has an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 14.60 kmpl.

The Elantra gets new sharper LED Quad projector headlamps with LED DRLs, new triangular foglamps, 16-inch alloys, and chrome door handles with pocket light. It’s available in 5 exterior colours – Marina Blue, Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Phantom Black and Fiery Red.
As expected, Hyundai has loaded the Elantra with features such as wireless charger, ventilated front seats, infinity sound system with door speakers, centre speaker, tweeters, amplifier, sub-woofer, cruise control, 10 way adjustable power driver seat with electric lumbar support, dual-zone FATC with cluster ionizer, rear AC vents, electric sunroof, aluminium scuff plates, and aluminium pedals.
Safety wise, the car gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors as standard. Front parking sensors, Hill assist control, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control and vehicle stability management are available on top trims.
As of the Hyundai Blue Link system, there are functions such as safety, security, remote access, vehicle relationship management, location-based services, alert services, Artificial Intelligence (AI), remote access, Geo-fencing, SOS/emergency assistance and more. The car can communicate with server-based Voice Recognition technology that can understand Indian English and natural language.
