Bhubaneswar: Noted Odia cine director Sisir Mishra on Saturday expressed his displeasure on being conferred with Padma Shri award.
In a statement, the 70-year-old veteran director said instead of Padma Shri award, he should have been conferred Padma Vibhushan.
“Conferring Padma Shri on me is like applying talcum powder on the face of a 70-year-old woman,” he observed.
Taking a dig at Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Mishra said the Chief Minister does not recognize the Odias. “Since he does not know me, he did not recommend my name for Padma Vibhushan,” he rued.
