I Won’t Do Shows In India, Declares Singer Diljit Dosanjh

Mumbai: Singer Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil-Luminati tour has been making headlines for some reason or the other as it goes to different cities in India.

Dil-Luminati was earlier in the news as a few states imposed restrictions on the concert and prohibited the singer from singing songs promoting alcohol and drugs.

Now, videos from Diljit’s Chandigarh concert are doing the rounds in which the singer has declared that he won’t be doing any more concert in India.

No, the announcement is not because of the restrictions that were imposed on his concerts, but because Diljit feels that the infrastructure in India is not good for live concerts.

“Here we don’t have infrastructure for live shows. This is a source of big revenue; many people get work and are able to work here…I’ll try next time that the stage is at the centre so that you can be around it. Till this happens, I won’t do shows in India, that’s for sure,” Diljit is heard saying in the video clip.

‘Do Something New’, Diljit Gives It Back To Trollers

After being criticised and trolled for insignificant issues, the singer seems to have lost his cool.

Recently, the singer was called out for spelling ‘Punjab’ as ‘Panjab’ in one of his posts. A section of X users pointed out that ‘Panjab’ is mostly used in the Pakistani region. Some users also pointed out that the singer missed out adding the emoji of the Indian flag in his post.

on Monday, Diljit gave it back to the haters by asking them to do something new instead of criticising him every now and then.

“PANJAB, kisi Ek tweet mein agar PANJAB ke saath India flag mention reh Gaya toh conspiracy. Bengaluru ke tweet mein bhi ek jagah reh Gaya tha mention karna. Agar Punjab ko PANJAB likha toh conspiracy. PANJAB ko chaahe PUNJAB likho PANJAB WILL BE PANJAB (If I forgot to mention the India flag with Panjab in one tweet, then you create a conspiracy. I missed mentioning it even in a Bengaluru tweet. If I write Punjab as Panjab, then conspiracy),” the singer posted on X.

He added, “Panj Aab – meaning Five Rivers…Hats off to those who are using foreigners’ language (English) to push conspiracy theories. In the future, I will write PANJAB in Punjabi, as in Gurumukhi. You guys won’t stop I know. So keep going. How many times do we have to prove that we love India? Do something new or have you been given a task to create conspiracies around me?”

Reposting Diljit’s post, a fan wrote, “Why are you even bothering.. some people have no work to do but to troll!! Life mein sabko explanation dena zaruri nai hai…(It’s not important to give an explanation to everyone). You are here because of your fans who are as young as two years old..!! (sic).”

Diljit replied, “Na.. Bother Shother ni karda Mai Eh Vaar vaar Tweets kar ke Jhoothi gal nu v Sach bana dende aa Tan counter karna zaruri aa (I don’t bother about these things, but repeatedly tweeting false claims makes them seem true, so it’s necessary to counter them) (sic).”

Diljit is scheduled to perform next in Mumbai on December 19. He will conclude his Dil-Luminati India Tour on December 29 in Guwahati.
