ICAR-CIWA Bhubaneswar Signs MoU With UP’s TANAGER For Commercialisation Of Women Friendly Technology
Bhubaneswar: ICAR’s Central Institute for Women in Agriculture (CIWA), Bhubaneswar is partnering with ‘TANAGER’ of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh for commercialisation of a new technologyu developed by it.
ICAR-CIWA has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with TANGER for commercialisation of the technology on ‘Women Friendly Multipurpose Integrated Vertical Nutri-Farming System (IVNFS) for Vegetable Production with Mushroom and Poultry,” an official release said on Wednesday.
The purpose of the MoU is to ensure dietary diversity and household nutritional security to the landless farm families through the IVNFS technology. The low-income families can meet their needs for vitamins, minerals and protein through regular access to nutrient rich vegetables, mushrooms, eggs and meat obtained from this system.
Director of ICAR-CIWA Dr Mridula Devi emphasised that this effort will definitely increase farmwomen’s resilience to climate vulnerability and offer subsidiary source of income to the resource poor farm families.
Rajiv Ranjan, Director Operations & Authorised Representative, TANAGER, Lucknow, explained the plans for popularisation of this technology among the end users.
ICAR-CIWA team Dr Tania Seth, Dr Arun Kumar Panda and Chaitrali Shashank Mhatre, inventors of the IVNFS technology, imparted training on package of practices for production of vegetables, mushroom and poultry in the Multipurpose Integrated Vertical Nutri-Farming System.
