Iconic Rajaswa Bhavan To Come Up In Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: After erecting the majestic Krushi Bhavan building here, the Odisha government now plans to construct another iconic structure in the state capital to house different revenue offices and courts.

Proposed to be named ‘Rajaswa Bhavan, the new building will be constructed in BJB Nagar area as part of efforts to accommodate various revenue establishments in a single complex to enable the public to access the services in a convenient manner, an official said.

The proposed Rajaswa Bhavan, expected to come up as another architectural marvel, is sought to accommodate among others the offices of tehsil, sub-collector, ADM, DSR and camp offices of the Collector, Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) and member of the Board of Revenue and revenue courts.

It is likely to come up in an area of 1.8 acres of land which will be made available by relocating some government quarters of General Administration department, official sources said.

Steps have already been initiated to give the proposal a concrete shape and  team of officers, including RDC (Central Division), Khurda Collector and officials from the Planning and Revenue departments, has already visited the proposed site, the official said.

It has been decided to initiate steps for rehabilitation and relocation of slums which are located on the site, he said.

It is proposed to design a purely administrative space for all revenue-related offices In order to facilitate synergy between the officials and the public. The design will be prepared keeping in mind the local climatic conditions to ensure optimal air circulation.

This apart, locally-sourced materials will be used to translate into a minimal carbon footprint in the construction process. The building will also feature a rooftop solar power generation facility as part of the Government’s focus on enriching the environment.

Steps are being to prepare to prepare a detailed plan and estimate in all the departments concerned to ensure early take off of the project, sources added.
