Bhubaneswar: Four students from Odisha have emerged toppers with 99.2% in the ICSE Class X board examination, the results of which were declared on Sunday.
Rishi Sagar Satapathy of SCB Medical Public School, Cuttack, Sai Krishna Panda of Ispat English Medium School, Rourkela, Shreedhara Barik of St Joseph High School, Bhubaneswar and Ashutosh Nayak of Nirmala Convent School, Keonjhar, have been placed on rank one in the state.
A total of 21 students have made it to the top three merit positions. While 8 students secured the second position with 99%, nine students have been placed third with 98.8% marks, according to the state merit list published by the board.
A total of 8,774 students, including 4,769 boys and 4,005 girls, from 92 schools across the state appeared for the exam. The pass percentage was 99.92%. Girls outperformed boys with a pass rate of 99.98% against 99.87%.
This year due to COVID, the examination was held in two semesters — one in November/December and another in April/May. Equal weightage was given to both semesters and the marks of both and project submission were added to calculate the final marks in each subject.
