New Delhi: As expected, ICSE board exams for classes 10 and 12 have been deferred.
The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) said in a statement that fresh dates for the exams will be announced in the first week of June.
“The Covid situation will be closely monitored and the deferment of the ICSE and ISC 2021 examinations will be reviewed and a final decision on the conduct of the examinations will be taken by the first week of June 2021,” the board said in a statement.
CBSE has already cancelled class 10 exams and postponed class 12 exams.
The decision will come as a relief for over 35 lakh students in the country, considering the nationwide surge in coronavirus cases.
The exams were due to begin on May 4.
