Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Saturday appointed senior Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer K Murugesan as the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and Head of Forest Force (HoFF) in the state.
According to a notification issued by the General Administration & Public Grievances Department, 1994-batch IFS officer Murugesan has been appointed in the Apex Scale (Level-17 in the Pay Matrix) under the provisions of Note-2 of Rule 3(2) of the IFS (Pay) Rules, 2016.
Murugesan brings with him extensive administrative and field experience to the state’s forest governance.
This appointment places Murugesan at the helm of Odisha’s forest administration, giving him responsibility for overseeing conservation, afforestation, wildlife protection, and climate change initiatives across the state.
