Puri: The Puri district administration on Sunday sent the IIC and 30 policemen of Kumbharapada Police Station to a government quarantine centre after an accused person brought to the police station tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
According to Puri SP Uma Shankar Dash, an accused arrested in connection with a snatching case was brought to the police station four days ago.
As he later tested positive for COVID-19, the Health and Family Welfare Department ordered sanitization of the police station and asked the IIC and 30 policemen to go into in a government quarantine centre.
The swabs of all these police personnel will be sent for tests on Monday, Dash said.
