Bhubaneswar: To streamline vehicular traffic and security in Bhubaneswar, the Odisha government on Wednesday decided to conduct a third-party audit of these issues.
Talking to the media after reviewing a meeting on road safety at the Lok Seva Bhawan here, principal secretary, Commerce and Transport, G Srinivas said IIT-Bhubaneswar has been selected as the third party to conduct the audit in six months and submit a report to the state government.
Referring to the accident-prone areas in the Odisha capital and on its outskirts, he said the Engineering, Works and Rural Development Department will identify these black spots, following which patrolling will be intensified at these places.
There are 1452 black spots on National Highways passing through the state and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will undertake the repair at these places soon, he added.
