Bhubneswar: The 10th edition of “Wissenaire”, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar’s “Techno Management Fest”, was inaugurated here on Friday.
The theme of this edition of Wissenaire is “Cosmic Expeditions: Astounding Odysseys Ensuring Humanity’s Existence”.
The event was inaugurated by Professor R V Rajakumar, Director IIT Bhubaneswar, and chief guest Dr Manas Kumar Mandal, former director general of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
The three-day techno management fest — January 31 to February 2 — will showcase exhibits from DRDO, ISRO, Army as well as various other gadgets and innovations.
Central events include “YANTHRIX”, the robotics events & competitions, and workshops on IOT, web development, Mercedes Engine analysis, bridge designs etc.
The second day, tagged “Teknite”, will have talks by speakers like Abhinay Bhasin, Director (Data science) Dentsu Aegis Network and Gururaj Rao, IBM systems Chief Engineer. It will also include an informal night with a stand-up comedy session by Shaswath Maheswari.
The concluding day of Wissenaire’ 20 will be marked by live performance by Dhvani Bhanushali.
The event is being organised by the Wissenaire committee comprising students of IIT Bhubaneswar. It is coordinated by Tarun Guguloth, chief coordinator, Wissenaire 2020.
