Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued yellow warning for dense fog in 11 districts of Odisha.
The national weather agency in a mid-day bulletin said that a trough line stretching from a cyclonic circulation over the central parts of South Uttar Pradesh and neighbourhood up to Vidarbha in Maharashtra has become less marked.
Under its influence, there will be light rainfall at one or two places Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Ganjam, Khurda and Puri districts on Saturday.
However, it has forecast dense fog at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Angul, Sonepur, Balangir and Sambalpur on Saturday and Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balangir, Angul, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Koraput on Sunday.
There will be a sharp fall in the night temperature by 4-6 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state from January 12, it added.
Meanwhile, the rainfall recorded in the last 24 hours in Odisha was highest in Keonjhar (12 mm) followed by Baripada (8.6 mm) and Sambalpur (3.8 mm).
