Bhubaneswar: There was no respite from the intense cold wave condition in most parts of interior Odisha on Monday with a sharp fall in the night temperature.
According to a bulletin by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the night temperature recorded till 5.30 am on Monday was lowest in Phulbani at 8.5°C followed by Sonepur (8.8) and Daringbadi (9).
Besides, the temperature remained below 15°C degrees in Angul (10.6), Jharsuguda (13.4), Keonjhar (14), Sambalpur (14.4), Sundargarh (13), Hirakud (14.6), Talcher (13.3), Bhawanipatna (11.6), Balangir (13.5), Koraput (10.6), Titlagarh (15), Malkangiri (13) and Boudh (13).
Meanwhile, there was dense to very dense fog at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jagatsingpur, Sonepur, Boudh and Rayagada and shallow to moderate fog at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack, Khurda, Koraput and Nayagarh.
The IMD has issued a yellow warning for dense fog at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh and Nayagarh in the next 24 hours.
