Bhubaneswar: With a low-pressure area persisting over northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange warning for 16 districts till 4.30 pm on Tuesday.
Moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorm/lightning and wind speed 30-40 kmph may occur at many places in Angul, Bargarh, Boudh, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jajpur, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Puri, Kalahandi, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Rayagada districts.
Odisha is likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall till August 30 as the system is expected to move west-northwestwards and become more marked during the next 2 days.
