Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and yellow warnings for 20 districts of Odisha, including Cuttack city, till 1 pm on Wednesday.
Moderate thunderstorm/lightning accompanied by moderate rain may affect some parts of Dhenkanal, Balasore, Jajpur, Deograh, Angul, Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Boudh, Bhadrak, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar Sundargarh and Kendrapada.
Light to moderate thunderstorm/lightning and light to moderate rain may also occur in some parts of Bargarh, Ganjam, Nuapada, Gajapati, Balangir and Kandhamal during this period.
The weather agency has warned of minor damage to kutcha houses with weak roofs and waterlogging in low-lying areas in these districts. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes and associated hazardous impact.
