The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for 13 districts of Odisha, including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, 6.35 pm on Sunday.
Light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning is likely in some parts of Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Bhadark, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Angul and Deogarh in 3 hours. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
Notably, the weather forecasting agency has issued yellow alert for heavy rainfall at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar during the day. Light to moderate rain or thundershower is also likely at some places in North Coastal Odisha, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and at a few places in remaining parts of the state.
