Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued a thunderstorm warning for seven Odisha districts from 4.30pm to 8.30pm.
Moderate thunderstorm, lightning with light rainfall and gusty wind speeds reaching 30-40 kmph are likely at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Balangir, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, Nayagarh, and Ganjam, said the latest Met bulletin.
The Met Department also predicted that the temperature was likely to rise by 2-3 degree Celsius across the state. No heat wave warning has been issued for specific districts.
Such conditions are likely to prevail during the next five days, the sources said.
