Bhubaneswar: While Odisha saw clear sky for the last two days with no significant synoptic system lying over the region, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a gradual and steady rise in the day and night temperature in most parts of the state.
The IMD, in a mid-day weather bulletin on Saturday, said that there will be a gradual rise in the day temperature by 2-3 degree Celsius over the districts of Odisha in the next four days till March 13. The day temperature in the coastal districts will go up by 3-4 degrees and is most likely to cross 37 degree Celsius in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Nayagarh. Besides, mercury will soar over 40 degree Celsius at one or two places in the western and southern Odisha districts, it said.
According to the evening release, Malkangiri was the hottest at 39 degree Celsius while the temperature hovered at 34 degrees and above in Bhubaneswar (35.2), Angul (34.7), Hirakud (34.1), Talcher (34.2), Bhawanipatna (36.2) and Balangir (35.3).
