Imperial College London Honours Vidya Balan With “Youth Icon” Award
Actress Vidya Balan, who is currently in London, shooting for her movie on Mathematician Shakuntala Devi, known as a Human Computer, was presented with the “Youth Icon” award by the Imperial College London. This is where late Shakuntala Devi received her Guinness Book of World Records achievement on June 18, 1980.
Vidya was invited by the college to address the students who idolise the actress for her exemplary body of work and for being one of the finest actors of the Indian film industry. The organisers requested Vidya to grace the occasion as India’s leading youth icon as they believed her words of encouragement shall have a lasting impact on the students.
Taking time out of her busy shooting schedule, Vidya honoured her commitment and interacted with over 100 students at the college who were overwhelmed to meet the “Kahani” actress.
The actress who made a mark with her powerhouse performance in Bhool Bhulaiya got emotional while addressing the students in the same college where the late mathematics genius was bestowed the biggest recognition- a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
The versatile actress also spoke extensively about her remarkable journey in films and encouraged the students to stay positive, no matter what the situation is and live every moment of life with gusto.
