Islamabad: Pakistan has been on the edge over the tussle between Imran Khan and ruling dispensation.
Arrested from Islamabad High Court premises last week before being granted bail following the Supreme Court’s ‘unlawful’ ruling, Imran has refused to quieten down and urged his supporters to ‘snatch freedom.’
His detractors have been equally vocal against the former Pakistan PM.
On Monday, Leader of Opposition in Pakistan’s National Assembly Raja Riaz Ahmad Khan criticised the courts in the House and added that Imran should have been hanged publicly.
“Imran Khan should have been hanged publicly, but the courts are welcoming him as if he was the son-in-law,” he said.
“If the judges are so happy with this Jewish agent, they should join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf. They have some vacant seats in the party. Going forth, they should fight elections on PTI’s ticket. In their place, those judges should be brought in who can give justice to the poor,” Riaz added.
Members of Pakistan’s ruling coalition today staged a demonstration outside Supreme Court to protest against some recent rulings of the judiciary which they said provided blanket relief to former Prime Minister Imran Khan in a number of cases.
Demonstrators — belonging to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) — entered the Red Zone while the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) set up a stage in front of the country’s top court, PTI reported citing Dawn News.
