Lahore: The District and Sessions Court has granted interim bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi until January 13 in cases related to the November 26 protest, ANI reported quoting ARY News.
Bushra Bibi herself appeared in court with her legal team to seek interim bail in four cases filed at Tarnol police station and three at Ramana police station.
Judge Shabeer Bhatti, who heard Bushra’s interim bail petitions, approved her bail upon submission of surety bonds worth Rs 50,000 for each case.
Last week, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi had granted interim bail to Bushra in 32 cases until January 13, her counsel said.
Bushra the third wife of Imran, has emerged as the face of PTI’s protests in Pakistan since walking out of jail in October. PTI has been demanding the release of the former Pakistani Prime Minister, with tens of thousands of supporters marching towards Islamabad last week, defying government orders and facing a barrage of riot police and teargas.
Imran has been in jail since early August 2023, facing more than 100 charges.
