Bhubaneswar: Braving rain, crowds swelled at the ornate Durga Puja pandals in Odisha capital on the occasion of Maha Navami on Tuesday.
The Druga Puja is being celebrated across Odisha with public participation after a gap of two years due to COVID restrictions.

Baramunda Durga Puja Committee’s pandal transports you to Rajasthan walking through one of its majestic palaces. That’s because the pandal has been designed on the lines of Jodhpur Palace.
The Saheed Nagar puja pandal has a temple theme: An impressive replica of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The idol is 85-ft high and 120 ft in width.

This year, the Jharpada Durga Puja Samiti has constructed a replica of the State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg, Russia. The height of the gate is about 85 ft and the width 150 ft.
Nayapalli Durga Puja Samiti in Odisha’s capital has come up with a theme to showcase the neglected mothers in our society in their pandal.
Rasulgarh Durga Puja pandal in Bhubaneswar is bound to attract visitors with a unique concept this time. The Puja Committee decided to take visitors “on a tour of Delhi’s Akshardham Temple” this time. The pandal — 80 feet tall and 120 feet wide — has been created with eco-friendly materials, mostly bamboo, mats, and ice-cream sticks, put together by craftsmen from Kolkata.
Among the theme-based pandals that are sure to draw the crowds this time is the Durga Puja pandal at Old Station Bazaar in the temple city. About 120-ft long and 40-ft high, the pandal recreates the beauty of Varanasi ghats.
Bomikhal Durga Puja Committee has created a replica of Mysore’s Lalitha Mahal at its pandal this year. The replica of Lalitha Mahal is about 120 ft wide and 80 ft long. The puja committee has drawn up a budget of Rs 40 lakh for this year’s pandal decoration.
