The two-day photo exhibition, Building Healthy Communities – a snapshot from Choudwar, at Habitat Centre in New Delhi by award-winning photographer Tom Oldham was inaugurated on Monday to mark World Toilet Day.
He had captured these images during his visit to Choudwar in Odisha, where he met a number of people benefiting from the Swachh Samudai Project, which works to enable slum communities in the town to improve their health through better access to safe drinking water and sanitation services.
The Swachh Samudai ‘Healthy Communities’ Project by Practical Action, an NGO, supports the municipal authorities to deliver their policy of providing safe clean water as well as safe treatment and disposal of liquid waste in Choudwar municipality.
