[In Pictures] Journey Of Lord Jagannath & Siblings On Annual Sojourn To Shree Gudhicha Temple
Puri: The two-day Rath Yatra in Odisha’s pilgrim town of Puri, a rare occasion observed in 53 years, came to an end on Monday as Lord Jagannath reached Saradhabali in front of Shree Gundicha Temple on his magnificent ‘Nandighosa’ chariot around 2.35 pm.
Taladhwaja chariot of Lord Balabhadra was the first to reach the temple, considered as their maternal home, followed by Darpadalana chariot of Devi Subhadra after pulling of the chariots on the Grand Road resumed this morning. It was halted last evening after the sunset as per the tradition.
The sibling deities will be later carried to Adapa Mandapa of the temple, where they will give darshan to devotees during their week’s stay before returning to their abode, Shree Jagannath Temple.
