In Rush For Selfies, Mithun Chakraborty’s Wallet Stolen At BJP Election Rally
Dhanbad: Mithun Chakraborty had his wallet stolen while he was campaigning for the Jharkhand Assembly elections.
BJP’s star campaigner had gone to address an election rally in Dhanbad’s Kaliasole to seek support for Aparna Sengupta, the party’s candidate from Nirsa, on Tuesday.
A large crowd had gathered to hear the actor-turned-politician who was recently honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. However, there seemed to be inadequate security as videos of the rally showed several people climbing on stage to click pictures with Mithun.
His wallet was picked during the rush for selfies on stage. Organisers were heard asking people to get off the stage and an appeal was made to return Mithun’s wallet.
“We request whoever has stolen Mithun da’s wallet, please return it to him,” pleaded one of the organisers through the public address system.

However, their request fell on deaf ears, as Mithun left the site.
