Indefinite Private Bus Strike In Odisha From March 14
Bhubaneswar: The private bus operators have decided to go on state-wide indefinite strike from March 14 to press for their longstanding demands.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, All Odisha Private bus Owners’ Association (AOPBWA) Secretary Debendra Sahu said, “The state government has planned to introduce 300 city buses for long route service in different parts of the state. We demand that the state government should inform us about the details regarding the routes of these buses.”
“The government is planning to bring a bill in Odisha Assembly to increase the tax collection amount. We strongly oppose such move and demand immediate rollback of the decision,” Sahu added.
More than 5,000 private buses will stay off the roads across the state from March 14 for an indefinite period, if the government fails to heed our demands at the earliest, he added further.
