India Beat Bangladesh To Qualify For Cricket World Cup Semi-Finals
Birmingham (England): India stormed into the semi-finals of the Cricket World Cup by beating Bangladesh by 28 runs in a thrilling encounter here on Tuesday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Rohit Sharma scored his fourth century (104) of the tournament and his opening partnership of 180 runs with KL Rahul (77) helped India reach a commanding 314-9.
Bangladesh were all out for 286 in 48 overs despite half-centuries by Shakib Al Hasan and Mohammad Saifuddin. Indian bowlers struck at regular intervals with Jasprit Bumrah (4-55) and Hardik Pandya (3-60) sharing seven wickets.
Rohit was declared the ‘Player of the Match’.
India is the second team to qualify for the semifinal after Australia.
