Mumbai: International cricket will resume on Indian soil post COVID-19 pandemic with England’s full tour in February-March 2021.
The first 2 India versus England Test matches will be held in Chennai, while the refurbished Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the day-night 3rd Test and the final match.
All five T20 Internationals will be held in Ahmedabad as well, followed by a 3-match ODI series in Pune.
It was learnt that the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has okayed the itinerary proposed by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
“Ahmedabad is expected to turn pink when it hosts the third Test on 24th of February under lights,” the BCCI said in a release.
It remains to be seen whether spectators are allowed at the grounds. The BCCI is likely to request the government to allow at least a certain percentage of the capacity of stadiums to be filled up by crowds.
