Bhubaneswar: A day after the last investors’ meet in Hyderabad, Indian ambassadors to four countries – United Arab Emirates (UAE), Switzerland, Spain and Guatemala – will attend a business summit being organised by the state government in Odisha capital on October 18, official sources said on Sunday.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will also attend the summit.
While the ambassadors would be briefed about investment potential, investor-friendly policies and reforms in ease of doing business being implemented by the government, they are expected to reach out to the business community in their respective countries and invite potential investors to Odisha. The state, which shares mutual business interests with these four countries, is looking for investments in sectors like food processing, petrochemicals, alumina and aluminium, real estate, port-based logistics, industrial warehousing, fintech and metal trade exchange, the sources added.
The summit assumes significance against the backdrop of the upcoming third edition of the Make in Odisha conclave, the flagship industry-investors meet scheduled from November 30 to December 4 in Bhubaneswar.
On August 31, the CM showcased Odisha as a fast-emerging industrial destination with huge natural resources and strategic location in New Delhi while reaching out to envoys and diplomats from more than 30 countries.
Following this, he attended two more curtain raisers at Bengaluru and Mumbai and held one-on-one meetings with potential investors there with the objective to invite them to the conclave. The next is scheduled to be held in Hyderabad on October 17.
