New Delhi: Indian and Chinese troops were involved in a confrontation along the India-China border in north Sikkim on Saturday, according to media reports.
Several soldiers from both sides were injured as they exchanged blows during the stand-off that reportedly took place near Naku La, a pass at a height of more than 5,000 metres.
“Four Indian soldiers and seven Chinese troops suffered injuries during the confrontation that involved around 150 soldiers,” Hindustan Times quoted an unnamed Indian Army officer as saying on Sunday.
He added that the face-off was resolved at the local level after a dialogue.
The Army Headquarters, however, did not officially comment on the confrontation.
