San Francisco: The Consulate General of India in San Francisco has expressed its concern over the disappearance of a 22-year-old Indian student from the Lake Anza area in the Berkeley Hills since February 9.
Saketh Sreenivasaiah was a student of the University of California, Berkeley. In a post on X, the Indian mission has said that it is in touch with student’s famly as well as local authorities.
“Consulate General of India in San Francisco is deeply concerned about the disappearance of Saketh Sreenivasaiah, an Indian post-graduate student of UC Berkeley, hailing from the State of Karnataka. The Consulate is in touch with the family and also is in contact with the concerned local authorities to locate the student,” it was posted.
The student’s roommate Baneet Singh, posted on LinkedIn, seeking help to locate the 22-year-old.
“Hey all, my roommate, Saketh Sreenivasaiah, has been missing since Monday the 9th, last seen near Lake Anza in the Berkeley hills. If anyone of my connects knows people in the area who has seen him recently, please reach out to me with any information. I’m working with the police dept desperately to make sure we find him. It’s a hard time for us right now. Please provide any information that could help,” he wrote on the platform, as per India Today.
According to his Linkedin profile, Sreenivasaiah is from Karnataka and completed his BTech in Chemical Engineering from IIT-Madras in 2025. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from UC Berkeley.
He has been described described as being 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing about 160 pounds (73 kg), by the Berkeley Police Department.
